they cost hundreds just for a few minutes though, and it's only during cny that you get to see them everywhere, in malaysia of course. on new years midnight, and first night of new year, it's really everywhere in all directions, and so close. like just 2 houses away that kind of near.

debit card bill just came today AGAIN, omg i spent $1200+ in just the past holiday.
im forever amazed at my own spending ability. but ok can, i just bought another dress online. cannot resist! found this amazing site, www.inhousefashion.com and it sells all the type of dresses i love!

i love dresses with open or cross back designs. especially if it's skater dresses. omg can faint, i see already want to buy all. if it's not for only $200 left in my bank account -___-

still waiting for the rest of the photos to be uploaded on fb, but it was definitely a memorable birthday. I was really stressed planning everything, being a perfectionist i wanted everything to be perfect, and when things didnt go my way, i really got super stressed!

in the end, i realised that all the things i wanted most didnt matter, and all the things i didnt ask for mattered the most. like rushing around to find speakers, cause rental would cost $400 for some lousy speakers. and i spent the entire day baking rainbow cupcakes, which i failed terribly and ended up baking tons of plain cupcakes with pink icing only that i forgot to bring out!

but the party was awesome, everybody had so much fun and so did i, i received lots and lots of pink presents and money and shopping vouchers and makeup, my dress was pretty and i had a flower in my hair. Also, the band was great and food was really good too! so i was really happy at the end of the day. Not to mention all my wonderful friends who helped out and came and made me so happy ((((((:

they all said next year they'll plan it for me so that i wont stress so much lol

omg ive been so busy recently, really very very busy. every single day im just packed. rehearsals for mahler 5 have started, it's 7.30pm to 10.30pm everyday. yesterday went to science centre, library and shopping, day before was zoo, bugis shopping and east coast park. yes, i've been bringing a kid around.

in the meantime, the year is going to end in 3 days time and i wish i can turn time back! homework mountain is piling heaps and heaps oh dear....

and it can only get worse from now sigh :( sorry for the lack of posts, my life is happening but i dont even have time to connect to online!

Everybody have those days when they feel fat, and so do i. No im not skinny and perfect, guys stop kidding me. Honestly, who doesnt have flaws?

I’ve a pear shaped body, i’ve big hips. And once in awhile i get really sad about how fat my hips are. And today was really bad. I started surfing through the net for ways to reduce fats, pictures of skinny people, pictures of curvy people, of fat people, all sorts of ways to make myself feel better and it didnt work. So i was wallowing in self pity, and that led to a really big pity party all by myself sigh.

I think i deserve to wallow in self pity because:

1. i have ginormous hips.

so many times ive bought shorts and cant fit into those. i tell myself all ive to do is lose 3 inches (which is freaking a lot, cause that’s 8cm) and i can be normal. but no, i cant. i love shorts, but its so hard to find a pair that can make me look normal. im forever looking for shorts and buying shorts cause none fits me fine :(( I’m not able to wear a normal swimsuit, the one piece kind because my hips are so freaking big, and i have stretch marks. I need to wear the 2 piece kind, with shorts.

2. i live in jurong west.

do you know how freaking far that is from everywhere else? all my friends stay in either serangoon gardens or east coast. nobody even stay remotely close to me, nobody to take train home with me, nobody invite me to their houses for fun cause i’ll always turn down, its too far :( i had to turn down 2 job offers because its too far, often a lot of events ive to leave earlier just so i can get home at a decent time. after concerts i cant hang out with everybody else for supper :(((( if i want to meet my friends in town, i’ve to take 1.5 hours because i need half an hour to get ready, shower/makeup/get dressed, and 1 hour to travel.

3. i am an IB student.

You have no idea how shitty it is, i’ve no more social life, i’ve no sleep. Ive to turn down next year trips to London and Berlin because there’s no way i can cope. I only have enough time and energy for school alone. Im even going to quit my 3 year job of ballet pianist (no income!), stop playing in SNYO and OMM, which will probably kill me with the love of orchestra music i have. Yes, i want to be a professional orchestra player. I never knew the true meaning of rushing deadlines until this year. So many times, rushing essays out through the night with cups of Lipton Tea and even Nescafe (causing me to be nausea and cant eat for an entire day cause im caffeine-intolerant) until the very last minute through assembly just so i can hand in on the dot. so many so many times, coming home late after continuous orchestra rehearsals every night, by the time i settle down it’s midnight, and then i start work. All those shitty nights when i really just break down, then quickly wipe away my tears so as not to waste time and continue doing work. Missing out on dinners at home.

Okay and the above 3 big reasons are why i think i deserve to wallow in self-pity. Then i decided no, self-pity is selfish, it’s self indulgent and silly.

So i came up with reasons why i SHOULD NOT wallow in self-pity:

1. I have Christ, what can be more important? Christ-centred life, not self-centred life!!!
2. Im going to have an awesome 18th birthday party!
3. I have many nice pink things. Pink macbook, pink texas calculator, pink room with pink walls and floral curtains and floral bedsheets/pillow case, pink hello kitty desk lamp
4. I have tons of clothes in my wardrobe yet to be worn out
5. I am not broke
6. My hair is always in good shape/colour
7. I have done 1500 words of essay today (!!!!)
8. I can bake.
9. I have a wonderful supportive family, both immediate and extended
10. I have tons of wonderful friends who truly love and care for me
11. I have people reading my blog and twitter about my rants and i should not burden them
12. It’s holiday right now
13. Im not that fat actually, its just my hips. If i dont look down, it’s fine. I can wear skirts.
14. I had chicken soup for dinner.
15. It’s time for me to shower

Okay and my mood is lightened up! Thank you all for listening to my rants and im not going to wallow in self-pity anymore, going to shower!!!

hi guys im back from weekend in kl!

$10 yoghurt that we had, and it was very good!
though i wouldnt buy it again cause the price is simply too much.

and the best lemon tea i've ever had.

we tried this latest food craze in KL, called snowflake. It's very popular with the young people and sells taiwanese desserts which has... bubble tea ingredients in it. My brother ordered this bowl called Japanese delight or something, and as you can see, it has green tea chewy thingy, red beans and bubble tea pearls, with soy bean blended ice.

10 random facts about myself.

1. I ate a tarantula before.
that was in cambodia, last year on service trip. our teacher ordered one for each table, and then i CHALLENGE ACCEPTED hahaha. it actually tasted like soft shell crab.
though i still think eating insects is unacceptable and gross actually.

2. Ive never sprained my ankle before, or gotten into the hospital for some accident.
i dont have any scar or bruises on myself actually... everybody i know have a story to tell about this scar they have or something.

3. When im in focus, be it studying/eating/listening, i'll tuck my hair behind my left ear

4. I've had a big birthday party at home when i was p6, inviting 50 people.
it was chaotic, ending up in fights between the boys, somebody seeing a ghost by the staircase and unwrapping presents like towels and kimono

5. I've never been to the states or australia or new zealand or japan. Im very suaku.

The first time i went to Europe was 2 years ago, on the school trip to Copenhagen, Denmark.
Last year was Cambodia and Taiwan, this year it's Scotland and Laos (and nearly Japan, but i cancelled it).

Next year there's a tour to Berlin with YO and London with OMM, but im not going for both cause of IB :( however i'll be going to Germany in March!

6. I think im a very loved person.
Lucky things are always happening to me, and people around me are always caring about me.
Though because i so act cute during primary sch and thus will get bullied by boys (who turned out to be hitting on me, literally), but i will have people protecting me also. I GOT BODYGUARDS IN PRI SCH ONE HAHAHA

okay but yes, i have 5 cousin jiejies, and when i was young, they would always bring me out and buy me clothes and all sorts of girly nonsense stuff. My godma queued overnight many times for the macdonalds limited edition hello kitty craze thing, 10 years ago. So i've a complete collection of the hello kittys in all sorts of ethnic costumes, hello kitty and daniel. And countless wonderful things that people did for me :')

i've a lovely family, wonderful friends and best of all, Christ.

7. I can play the piano, violin, viola and drums (a little).
I picked up piano when i was 3, violin when i was 5 (i asked for it myself, and thus started years of neverending agony of practicing), viola when i was 14, and drums was a one time june hols crash course thing

8. Im a very independent person.
I can eat alone in a crowded place, im not afraid to speak my mind, i travel to and fro school alone (1 hour train ride sian max), dress up, spend a lot of money, but i work too. I dont mind meeting new people, talking to adults about my school, or myself in general.

9. I've been working as a part-time ballet pianist for 3 years already.

10. I can cycle, cannot rollerblade (learning), hates running but thinks its the best sports cause no need brains, likes swimming cause no sweat, and.... i can play tennis and badminton badly.

omg can you believe its december already? less than a month to sch reopening, and my birthday! mixed feelings.

so anyway, i suddenly had this desire to bake gingerbread cookies!
after watching several youtube vids and searching for recipes online, i got very pumped to bake! so cutie, who dont like?
however the supermarket near by place is very laopok and doesnt sell much baking stuff, so no ground ginger. NO GINGER THEN BAKE WHAT GINGERBREAD MAN! :(

i still managed to do it the next day cause i ranted about it on twitter and a miracle happened (: heehee thank you dear

when i opened the box, i could already smell the aroma of cinammon, it was so good!

and i had so much fun. it was pretty easy too.

had chinese dining for dindin, then went to walk around clarke quay.

i dont want to say bungy jumping, cause it isnt. but the company say it is.

im going for it on my 18th birthday, yes i will. then i'll go clubbing. which is after my birthday party in the evening. can, all planned out already. #mylifeisperfect

GPS Laos trip

SABAIDEE!!!! im back from my GPS trip to Laos!

okay i tried to upload this video for the past 2 hours but its not working :(
Its actually a tour of Ryce's homestay house in Laos, her backyard actually. It's like a mini-zoo with cows feeding on grass and its truly magical.

And the peter i mentioned in my video, is our guide. He's like this big shot who connects villages to foreign aid and helps them, and he wears a lot of string bracelets on both hands, which is given to him by villagers out of respect. He's quite gay. No, he's really gay im not kidding.

okay so we went there to teach children, and mainly because we managed to raise USD 12,000 to install a water filtration system in the village so that they can have clean drinking water, and not from the rivers.

so we went to this village, about 3 hours drive from the airport, and we had homestays at 4 different houses. I was staying at the village chief's place, and it was quite okay. Like really kampong full swing style, with the wooden floors and cold water scooped from a well-tub-thing, and we slept at the attic.

daily routine is like this:

6.45am wake up
7am breakfast
7.45am walk to sch
8am- 11.30am teach pri sch
11.30-1pm come home eat lunch, nap
1.30-4.30pm teach sec sch
4.30pm-6pm come home shower, free time
6pm dinner
7.30pm-9.30pm sharing session among ourselves
BY 10PM SLEEP ALREADY

seriously, over there you just MUST wake up early sleep early. often, i wake up as early as 5am for no reason and by 9pm im super sleepy already. Actually by 9pm all the villagers go to bed already.

so that was the routine for like 7 days.
there were some special days, when we had a tour to the water facilitation system place, or this one day trip to vang vieng, which was a touristy place for RnR.

which was where the prices were ridiculous for many things, and we slept in a sleazy chalet place for USD10 a night, i bought my beerlao tank top, and went to trek in caves and kayaked down the river.

and thus my bad sunburn and mosquito bites, sigh.

ANYWAY, i felt that this was a really good trip to Laos, and im glad i went, even though i complained so much about it before the trip. the village has this 5 year agreement to have foreign aid, and they are in their 4th year, so there were many other singapore teams who have come before us, and in a way i felt very discouraged, and wonder if what im doing, is even of impact to them.

but then again, these kids have impacted me a lot, even though ive gone through so many other experiences, met a lot of people, had a lot of good teachers, etc.
and im sure they would never have guessed that i still remember their faces, their names, even those from cambodia, which i went 18 months ago. Yes, i do still remember and feel the impact they've left me. So i guess it's the same, vice versa.

Also even if the art activities we've done with them, weren't meaningful enough, or the english we taught them, will all be forgotten, at least they've learnt it then, and at least they've been happy and really enjoyed themselves then.

So yup, this is my conclusion of Laos trip, and even though im back for more than 24 hours already, all this still feels like a dream, the experience is so surreal, as if ive never been to Laos at all. Which is really weird. Laos is like this fusion of everything, modernisation but yet backwards, French/Thai/touristy influences...

nothing much going on recently, other than my busy schedule with tuition orchestra work and more work recently, both math work sch work and teaching work haha.

birthday plans are still going on, yes i know my birthday is on 7th Jan but hey that's only 6 weeks away and i want this to be a good party! venue is booked, still looking at menus, and ive settled for this cake from shiberty sweets which i sent in orders today.

its only 3.45pm but i know this is the most productive day of my holidays so far.
okay maybe because this is the only day that im free enough to head down to school for a whole day.

baked a batch of cookies in the morning, rushed out to meet mummy for lunch, then picked up my new top from ching yi (love!) on the way to school. while waiting to consult Ms Yang for EE, i did my managebac reflections on string camp and gotong royong (around 1000 words each!). After which i saw Ms Cynthia, who told me to do a post-GR write up report and i did.

Met Mr Rozells for comments on my lit part 1 essay (which was so bad sigh), and Mr Stromberg for MLI essay. And in between i was practicing viola in practice room. combined strings reh tonight, we're running through everything!

if only everyday can be like today!

went to watch my brother's dance performance last night, leap of faith.
It was a dance collaboration among all the dance ccas in school and because jeff is in chinese dance (hahaha, another story another time) so he was performing. and he had solos!
so so so proud of him, my dearest brother! it was my first time watching him dance!

on a side note, my hair has faded to golden-ish brown now :( sian.

and so i rushed it within a day.. found these 2 softwares that was sooo helpful!
stellar.jar , which can sketch all sorts of amazing stars! and mathtype, which can type all kind of equations.

was a success!
hahaha omg i was so stressed about it!!!!
k not really, started stressing like 1 day before that. because i had to rush my speech script, and there was the run through.
we managed to pull the whole event together with just 3 meetings! power or what.

anyway, i was so tired, cause the previous night i was rushing math IA that i slept at 2am, and OVERSLEPT.

I. OVERSLEPT.

gotong royong registration starts at 8am, and i woke up at 8am.
CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT OMGGGGGGG MOST PANICKY TIME OF MY LIFE
cabbed all the way down, (freaking $30 cab fare!) and made it at 8.55am hahaha
jurong is so far wtf... :(

luckily everything was running late, and my committee got everything under control (:

opening speech. i was so nervous!

and ms wang was hand-signing beside me to the deaf guest speakers, so cool!!!

anyway, it went quite okay, considering we only had 3 meetings!
not the best, but it wasnt too bad either. made some new friends, and yes we did this!

actually not that long a wait, it only took like couple of days...
so of course, ive to bling it!

this was what i did in the end.
initially wanted to bling the entire cover in rainbow colours, or do some design like hello kitty, but in the end no i decided shall just do something simple and personal.

also, found the perfect recipe for chocolate chip cookies and received too many compliments on this.

on the other hand, tried baking sponge cake and failed terribly.
came out this super solid cake... -___-

and here's what ive been eating for breakfast, every single day for the past 2 weeks since i got my waffle maker! hahaha

have been thinking about my birthday, which is in about 2 months time...
im a very birthday person, so i'll always plan way ahead.
i already have the perfect dress and venue!

my 15 was a pink party at condo, which turned out quite fail as it was hard to get everything pink (for some reasons, pink forks are hard to get!), and the people didnt adhere to my dress code :(

so i gave up and told myself i dont want to plan my birthday party ever again.
then on 16, my friends planned a surprise party for me on school's rooftop garden!
it was honestly the best birthday party ive ever had. it really was. the food was made by them, the jelly hearts and cookies, and the cake omg.

this year, my friends planned it again for me. a surprise picnic on marina barrage!
i truly enjoyed myself very very much once again. and they bought me a pink luggage!
which i bought to aberdeen this year and was so attention-attracting haha.

this year, im thinking if i should do a small party, just with my close friends, or a big one that i can invite like everybody that i know!

this was what i did with chloe on the second last day of school haha.
WE DIP-DYED OUR HAIR WHILE DOING TOK ESSAY.

so first we went down to chinatown to get our dying hair supplies.

aluminium foil, towels, old shirts, toothbrush for stirring/applying dye (2 for $1), packets of bleach ($3.90 each), blue hair dye for chloe ($11.50), and red for me ($7.50).

i didnt take pictures anymore during the process cause things got a lil messy.
but it was really easy!
in the bleach package, there's gloves/tray/bleach powder/bleach lotion, all super easy to use.
okay i know the bleach looks damn dubious, with that kind of face and font, but i assure you its safe! at least we both survived bleaching our hair!
and its from korea lah

k so after mixing the bleach properly, separate your hair into sections.
using a piece of aluminium foil against one section of hair, (please wear gloves!) slather a generous amount of bleach on to wherever you want!
then wrap it up.

so at the end of doing this step, your head should look like this.

the sections are really up to you. you can divide your hair into just 3 if you like.
k then using a hair dryer heatup the aluminium foil. just keep heating for like the next 10 minutes or until you feel really hot and tired.

see our hot and tired faces.

k then whenever you feel like ready, probably after 15 minutes, remove the aluminium foils and rinse hair with water. this is what our hair looked like after bleaching twice.

and chloe loved her bleach hair so much that she decided to just live with it instead of doing blue!

but i still wanted to do red, so after drying my hair, i reapplied a generous amount of red dye.
and this was the result! super happy!

after the first wash, the hair still looked a little dark, and right now it's only the 3rd day after dye, so i wont know whether if the hair colour will fade or anything.

it looks a little more orangey in my room...

so good luck if you want to dip dye your hair!
it's really easy, just do it!
im still not sure if i love my red hair, it is very bright.
and also not sure if i'll dye it back next year for sch...

at most i just cut it off and i'll look like this!

also yes, we went to school on the last day like this haha.
hid our pony tails underneath our shirts for the whole day -___-

honestly, im so burned out after rushing both history IA/lit essay last night till 3am, im ready to crash to bed by midnight. but then, i suddenly received a message on fb saying that

"due to unforeseen circumstances, GPS laos will have to postpone to 5th Dec"

wtf?

i definitely have a problem with that.
SNYO concert is on 7th dec, and coming back on the initial date, 4th dec is already quite intense.
it meant missing 1/3 of the rehearsals (all the important tuttis), and coming back 3 days before concert.

that aside, being away for an entire 2 weeks is insane.
with all these workload piled on us, this can hardly be called a holiday.
and in any case, this is going to be the only "holiday" we have until end of next year, because it's going to be chiong all the way.

look, everybody in school are already like freaking zombies. we are so tired.
we are so, so tired all the time, even when we have just handed up our essays.
i dont even have time to rest. the only time im allowed to, is when im sick.

my grades are not like shuchen, they are not fantastic.

2 months of holidays - 1 week = 7 weeks.
That's because school have been extended one more week this year.
7 weeks - 1 week (Malaysia) = 6 weeks.
6 weeks - 2 weeks (GPS) = 4 weeks.

4 weeks might seem a lot, but really, it's just 4 mondays.
if you allocate one subject a day to revise, 6 subjects = 6 days. and fine, sunday is off day, but not really because that's the day for church, tuition and viola lesson.
so you get to revise like, math for 4 times. great.

im not saying i hate service-learning or whatever. if i do, i wouldnt have raved about it for an entire month after coming back from cambodia last year, i wouldnt have wanted to donate all of my birthday money to a charity, i wouldnt have chaired gotong royong twice.

but did the teachers take into account, the precious time we are left?
CAS requires 150 hours. 14 days x 24 hours = 336 hours, that's well over requirements.
and because we're only allowed to fulfil up to a maximum of 75% this year, meaning next year we still have to do something about our hours despite going on a full trip of 14 days.

CAS is supposed to help with our grades, not pull us down.
dont you think 14 days is really too long? i think so.

i dont care, even though i handed in my deposit and even though i took my jabs, im still going to ask for withdrawal from laos trip tomorrow.

wish me luck. 12.30am, left with 5.5 hours of sleep.

so the day started off badly.
had a bad quarrel with brother early in the morning at 6am, and ended up in tears.
on my miserable state in sch, had another misunderstanding with somebody and it got me so worked up OMG.
just when i thought life sucked,
i headed up to music class and stromberg told me my recording slot for composition was TODAY.

this was really the worst then. i thought i couldnt take it anymore. ive everything planned out well, im getting professional players to do it for me, and now i suddenly found out its TODAY?!
(there was a misunderstanding, i swopped slots with tong, she forgot her timing, i emailed s to ask but he didnt reply me, and hence. )

O.M.G.

phone batt was dying, i frantically contacted all the people i knew and desperately needed an oboe player. it was an oboe-piano duet.
1 hour passed. okay clarinet also can.
another hour passed. whatever, flute horn oboe recorder WHATEVER just get me somebody!!!

and then... i suddenly felt a growing sense of horror within myself.

then had the most horrible cramps for the next 3 hours and i could only curl up into a ball in the corner of the classroom and wished the pain would go away.

i swear i really thought life couldnt get any worse then.
and thank goodness, that was the bottom.

thank God bookshop sell pads.

managed to find shao ming (flotist) and albert (pianist), and they came early to rehearse. recording went very well, i was so extremely happy!!!! it was a 2 times runthrough rehearsal, then take 2 recordings, and done! it was exactly what i wanted, and they were so professional and nice about it. we were done in just half an hour IN TOTAL!

and so, my day is made (:

ahhh i could have hugged everybody in the mrt on the way home heeheehee!!!

then after train, i decided to walk 2km home again instead of bus, so i did! dropped by my beautician place to get my eyebrows trimmed so now i have nice brows! LOOK AT ME!

she also gave me some samples to use when im in laos, and a sunscreen for daily wear cause she said im starting to get freckles :O actually i've already 2 sunscreens for normal wear, only i dont use them. haiya why everybody keep saying sunscreens are important! troublesome. if i get pimple after using then you know.

also got cheap stationaries heehee. these are the best correction tapes ever, $1 for 1 packet, comes with refill somemore. and best is, buy 2 get 1 free!!! so 3 for $2 CHEAP OR NOT!!!! and yes the hello kitty stationary set was so cute, couldnt resist. $1.50 only! YAY!

was what i was down with yesterday.
omg it was such a physical rollercoaster.
within 12 hours, i had diarrhoea for over 10 times, and threw up whatever medication.
didnt eat or drink all day as well.
it was really the most terrible feeling ive ever had, for the longest time i can remember.
i honestly thought i was dying.
i kept drifting in and out of sleep all day, cause mum kept insisting i rest, and besides whatever i do, even watching tv, gives me a headache.

so after my long afternoon nap, i woke up with a fever of 38.3 degrees and my bones were aching so badly.
couldnt take it anymore, and went to see doc.
i hate seeing doctor! ANYBODY ALSO CAN BE DOCTOR OKAY, EFFING USELESS.
just anyhow see me and prescribe stupid panadols.
please, i also know how!
TELL ME WHY IM SICK, TELL ME SOMETHING USEFUL OTHER THAN DRINK MORE WATER, REST AND EAT VEGE!!!!

went home, and slept all the way till 5am this morning without taking any of the medications prescribed. and to my amazement, i woke up completely fine.
FML THEN I PAID THE STUPID DOCTOR 40 BUCKS FOR WHAT!!!!!

stayed at home to rest, since i got MC anyway, and just in case i relapse back or something, but i didnt.

So, this is my post of the week!
and what im going to update about, is my new buys as usual.
haha not that my life has anything else much happening, except buying things -___-

exams are over, but the stress is still there.
so many deadlines to catch up, the essays and presentations to do, and worrying about promotion omg. got back results and they were not as idealistic as i hoped...

anyway! had a rare opportunity to go down to ikea the other day, cause i wanted to buy a baking tin (yes, ive been baking excessively these days...)
so i had a very stuffed lunch, practically eating everything i could possibly have (the fish fillet main course thingy, lingonberry juice, the chocolate nutty cake, vanilla ice cream, hotdog bun...)

and i bought many more things other than just my baking tin, cause ikea is just so fabulously cheap!!!

these 2 cups are BIG. perfect for making mug cakes!
or just simply you dont have to refill your cup so often, which lazy person me finds so troublesome. in your room studying half way, then have to come out and refill your cup AGAIN. troublesome or not!

these are super essentials!!!! EVERYBODY should get these!

my baking tin!!! comes with the chiffon cake mould as well, which has heart shapes on it! so adorable!

and this whole load of tupperwares, only costs $4.90! i couldnt resist getting them, even though i dont know what im going to do with so many tupperwares -___-

and the other day at bugis,
got this nice white dress, another long floral skirt (which comes with free belt!) and a blue dress.

and finally this, is the buy of my week!

a world map! got this at a quirky shop at clementi mall, called "The good things".
i absolutely adored it the moment i saw it! it is the real world map, and has cute doodles on them, and best of all, it is blank and comes with markers to colour in!!!

CUTE OR NOT! im going to colour all the flags and countries ive been to, heehee!
actually wanted to colour the countries that i want to go to, but that would be too many, so oh well!

okay, then i realised that my money have been draining too quickly this month.
really too fast. so i went to look through my wallet and gather the receipts i had from the past month. so these is what i have from the past 1 month....

okay so according to the receipts, i wrote out all the items i bought, the date and the price, and calculated how much i spent. there are many other things i knew i didnt have receipts for, like food and shoppings at places like haji lane.

so the total amount was $499.80, and i added food and dental and my laos trip deposit, everything that i paid which was not reflected here, was about $1000.
but these are all essentials!
clothes are essentials! WHO CAN DO WITHOUT CLOTHES YOU TELL ME.
NECCESSARY OR NOT?

okay okay. but really i didnt splurge on something ridiculous or unuseful, like a fur coat, but it was just the accumulation of many little things.
like 3 dresses would cost $100 already. dental was $100 each time i go, and laos trip deposit was $200. yeah, you see?

okay anyway, im going to colour my world map!

sorry for MIA-ing so long, its just that reality is so busy that ive been unable to update cyberspace. honestly, there's no time to celebrate after exams. it's just deadlines after deadlines and im just so tired. no, tired is an understatement. i dont even know how to describe this exhaustion within myself.

anyway from now on, whether exams or not, i'll push myself to the fullest. not just getting done and over with assignments, but truly doing it to the best that i can. yes i'll try my best. good is not good enough.

got back results, it's my personal worse. i dont believe life can get any worse than this. just so discouraged, over how difficult it is just to pass a subject. this is ridiculous. just last year im still scoring 70s.
so, if i manage to get promoted, i swear it is going to be the greatest testimony of my life. no, second best testimony.

baking marathon!

i went on a baking marathon in 3 hours yesterday.
i baked choc chip cookies, raisin biscuits and coffee cake.
almost wanted to do irish scones as well, but i was too tired to.
and afraid my oven would burn out as well LOL.

Marble cake is a success!

most difficult thing i've tried to date: marble cake!

my brother kept asking me to bake a cake, and since i've somebody who would be willing to eat what i bake, so why not! i've never baked a cake from scratch, and this is my first time! usually i just buy premix.

anyway, baking is very tough work. do not doubt that. and it's good exercise when you're bored with studying!

so, i youtubed how to bake a cake. and so on. eventually found one that looked do-able.

This is how you do it:

Ingredients -

A) 1 cup of castor sugar
200g of melted butter
3 eggs
dash of vanilla essence

B) 2 cups of self-rising flour and 1/2 cup of milk

1. Using an electric mixer, blend A until it becomes thick and foamy pale. This takes about 3 mins on high speed.
2. Add B, and use a mixer to blend everything in, about 30 seconds on high speed.
3. Pour out half of the batter into another bowl.
4. Add 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder in the remaining half batter, and blend for 10 seconds.
5. pour both batter into the cake tin, whichever pattern you like!
6. Bake for 35 mins on 180 degree celcius!

I KNOW IT SOUNDS EASY HERE, BUT ITS NOT OKAY!
and its freaking troublesome having to sift and measure everything!
you have to freaking melt the butter. you go try and see how troublesome it is. microwave doesnt work, cause it always pops and end up dirtying the entire microwave.

i initially couldnt find the electric mixer, so i whisk by hand for like 30 minds in step 1, and the mixture didnt change at all!!! HECK MY HAND CRAMP LIKE ASDFGHJK ALSO NO USE. and i was thinking to myself, THIS IS THE LAST TIME IM BAKING THIS.
luckily mum helped me find (with a lot of chidings, she forever think im a baking failure and will blow up her kitchen) in the end, and everything turned out well!

was very tiring, but the cake turned out good in the end so all my hard work paid off! so i cant wait to try doing this again!

now if only math works the same way...

is going blonde.
eventual cause i dont think i can do it anytime soon, not wanting to go blonde for like a month during dec and having to dye it back, so i'll prob have to wait till uni years.
and having curls of course.
there's just something about curls that make you feel pretty and love your hair much more.
cant afford this pretty luxury before IB ends though :(

all my dearest blings that i bought years ago to blinged my calculator with rainbow colours!!! nostalgic. it was really colourful and blinged up, so everytime i whip it out to use, people would be asking me about it. unfortunately, whoever invented the calculator is dumb enough not to make it more lasting, and thus it spoiled. every single person i know is using at least the second calculator! ANYWAY. to cut the story short, i got a second AND LOST IT AGAIN.

its more layered, and overall hair has more volume now also!

had a hair cut, bought a pair of wedges and a pair of heels (which i bought only to match the infinity dress i bought from online 2 weeks ago, heehee super happy!!!) , and a minnie mouse shirt at uniqlo.
chinese exam went well today, and this feeling i've right now, this carefree feeling, it's as if i dont give a damn about the rest of my exams anymore.

what a wasted day it has been.
other than feeling distracted, unmotivated and tired,

yes suddenly have this love for camisoles, and i realise i dont have much basics, so bought 4 in different colours! black, white, navy blue, beige.

cant wait for iphone 5 to come out, i'll be the first to get it!
release date is out in 3 days time, omg.

was so tired, slept like 14 hours. really, really tired.
not just physically, but emotionally drained as well.
last night was just insane.
who knew i could cry so much. i thought i was strong.

i is damn stress nowz, lit op in 14 hours.
cannot breathe.
the only thing that's keeping me alive now, is the tubes running through my veins, cause i am half-dead.

okay no, what's keeping me alive, is promising myself i'll do many many fun things after exams, and the list is increasing by the minute.
And most importantly, God's strength.

omg you've no idea how much i feel like a thirsty camel in the desert now.
What would i give for a bit more strength.
i feel so guilty, that all i've been praying today is, GOD HELP ME GIVE ME STRENGTH OH MY GOD. but it's really all i can manage before falling into despair and heading back to work, alternating between work and desperate prayer every other minute.

yes, finally got a polaroid after a million years!
i love the new instax mini 25, it's so light, and comes with the mirror so you can take self-portraits with friends by yourself!
im going to buy a lot of film from now on!!!

went to FLB flea with chloe last sat, bought some stuff and this was one of them!
this is for jimin's birthday, along with a dress and a lip balm (:
i love this so much, but they only had one :( hope she'll like it too!

this is my first polka dotted clothing! even though i look like such a polka dot person, but yeah!

there is something seriously wrong with the school when out of the entire cohort of year 5 students,

1/2 are in math studies, dropped out from math standard level,
2/3 are failing TOK,
and 2/3 of music students are considered "at-risk" or in the danger zone.

we tried our best and we tried so hard, but nothing we do seems to be good enough.
what trust and faith do i have left, in the school? none.
im on my own.

craziest day ever, of mad rushing work.

makeup workshop was so fun!!!
and the makeup on my face was really thick, even though you cant see it from the pictures here due to lightings. now that ive learned how to put on false lashes, maybe its time i'll try..

it makes me very self-concious when talking to people though.

Had tooth extraction this morning, everything went quite well.
Dentist even used strawberry anesthesia cream for me before he injected the anesthesia needles,
So that wasn't too bad!

Headed home to rest for awhile, since I was running a fever and sore throat was killing me :(
Felt too sick but still decided to head out to esplanade library to do work.
B came down to surprise me but I was went out right at that moment :(
Then I met up with Caleb for a night shoot and supper, which cheered me up a lot.
Laughter cures everything.

warning: this is a very tedious and thorough post of my makeups. you will be bored if you are a guy, or not into makeup!

today was my first time buying makeup from smoochies,
which is this online makeup store that does spree and sell stuff from E.L.F, M.A.C. ; OPI, etc.
the typical blogshop.

anyway, michelle's quite a big fan of them and she has been telling me since forever to get makeup from them!
so today after a study session with chloe, i decided to head down to cineleisure to meet mich and get some stuff.

not that i need anymore, but it's always nice to get new makeup (:

so this is what i bought today.
NYX makeup remover, elf tinted moisturiser, elf mineral eyeshadow primer, elf mineral face primer, mac blusher.

smoochies was really cheap, i got all these for only $52 in total! definitely cheaper than getting from stores.

okay now im going to go through all the makeup i have, right now. i clear my makeup about every 6-12 months. especially mascara, because i heard scary things about how expired mascara can actually blind you!!!

i know it's probably some urban myth, but still!

1. maybelline magnum mascara, which i just bought 2 days ago and its really good, and great for sports since its waterproof,
2. ZA cutie mascara, bought from taiwan and hardly used it cause it doesnt make your lashes grow, so quite useless haha
3. red earth christmas palette,
4. red earth eye concealer, best eye concealer ive used so far and its really lasting! (both the makeup effect on face, and the usage of it)
5. maybelline christmas eyeshadow palette and
6. eyelash curler. which i never dare to use cause im so afraid i'll clip my own eyelid!!!! :O

1. stage eyeliner in black
2. stage eyeliner in glitter dark blue. bought both together, but didnt use it much. i dont like pencils, they smudge too easily. and not dark enough also.
3. cyber colours eyebrow pencil which i swear by it!
4. revlon liquid eyeliner, really fine and easy to use, but equally easy to smudge at the end of the day!
5. maybelline gel liner. BEST EYELINER EVER I SWEAR BY IT ALSO.

1. maybelline lip balm, BEST. smells super good too, berry flavoured (: i bought mine in taiwan, like half a year before it came into singapore this year.
2. Victoria Secret Lip Gloss, bought from US before it came to SG also.
3. Lancome Juicy tube. omg i had like 3 different colours of this, and it costs $35 each. but its too sticky, so i never use it anymore. the font faded like damn jia lat, but i only kept it in my cupboard, dont know why also.
4. maybelline lip plumper. i use this most, cause i like the packaging HAHA

1. ZA brightener. bought it after reading XX's review of it, and it sounded so good! i personally dont think it does anything, it's this shimmery pale liquid thing thats suppose to highlight your good features. but i dont have any, probably thats why it doesnt work anything on me!

2. Blusher which my mum gave to me, so i dont know where it came from but i think it's good. well at least it matches my skin tone!

Other makeup products,
1. Seaweed toner from bodyshop, love it!
2. Tea tree Blemish Gel from faceshop, which does wonders for zits and pimples seriously!
3. NYX makeup remover that i just bought,
4. maybelline lips and eyes makeup remover, i think it's good since everybody has it? i've never tried any other, so i dont know!
5. tomato sunscreen from skinfood, which mum bought for me cause she doesnt want me to have freckles like her, but i cant be bothered to put it daily,
6. neutrogena sunscreen, damn high spf. mum bought this also. not a sample, people actually buy such small tubes omg! havent used it before either. probably can use up with one use lor, so small.

OKAY AND HERE ARE ALL MY MAKEUP!

it's not too bad, since i clear my makeup quite often.
after calculations, all these here cost me about $400! i didnt realise they cost so much...
oh well.

hi i woke up to a lovely morning,
because it was sunshine, and i had 9 hours straight of good sleep, remembered i dyed my hair red and decided to bake more muffins,
which turned out so lovely.

out of impulse after sch yesterday,
i really felt like changing my hair colour.
so i decided red was nice, and i did it in the showers in school, half an hour before i went out to town! i was looking for people to help me, but nobody was around. so oh well!
i actually did it without looking in the mirror at all, all by myself.
PRO OR WHAT.

it turned out exactly what i wanted, dark red so its not too obvious, hopefully i wouldnt be caught when i go back to sch! but red enough to be noticed!

okay this is super obvious, but...

look now it isnt! and this is a normal picture!

anyway if you are doing hair dye by yourself next time, always get a super bright colour, eg. if you want brown, get a super light brown. and if you want a dark red or reddish brown, get hot red! i usually get reddish brown even if i just want brown, because it fades a lot and it's interesting to see how your hair colour changes every 2 weeks.

unfortunately i currently have like 3 huge boxes of muffins right now and i hope jeff can finish them all in.. 3 days. HAHA.

happy teachers' day!

had a one hour school celebration yesterday, and omg the standards are getting worse every year. amni's song at the end totally saved the day, and if it wasnt because i've to hand up my essay, i wouldnt even have gone.

Anyway! met lee fang and bethea while looking for teachers to give my muffins to, and look what they have!

she's so amazing with everything visuals.
she made these roses herself!

bethea and her uh, pink icing muffins (which all melted by the time she gave them out HAHA)

i didnt take a picture with daisy, but she was giving out daisies as usual. she said they only cost 40 cents per stalk!!! okay next year im getting that.

then i stayed back in sch for awhile to do math, catched up on some sleep since i didnt had any the night before (cause i started doing the essay only at 1am -___-), and dyed my hair in the school showers HAHAHA.

headed to town for sushi buffet!!!
i only took pictures like, 10 mins before we ended and this was what i ordered. when i couldnt eat anymore...

I baked 3 batches of muffins from scratch today! (that's 6+8, multiply by 3!)
and all turned out so well, i'm so happy!
yes this is what im going to give my teachers tomorrow.
i hope they appreciate it, because i spent so much time on it (and yes it's 11pm i havent started on my lit essay which is due tomorrow)

i even dared to modify it to include bananas, and it worked all the same!
the recipe originally for blueberry muffins, but i found out it doesnt matter really.
so since im feeling so happy, ive decided i shall share with you all!
its really delicious and easy to make.

i can memorise this by heart already by the way haha.

3 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup brown sugar
4 teaspoons baking soda

2 lightly beaten eggs
1/2 cup melted butter
1 cup milk

1. sift flour and baking soda into a large mixing bowl
2. stir in brown sugar.
3. make a well in the middle.
3. combine eggs, butter and milk and pour in the middle.
4. stir everything into a lumpy batter, dont over stir!
5. add in either chocolate chips or blueberry or bananas, up to you!
6. heat oven to 185 degree celcius, and bake for 20mins or until golden brown (:

okay hi i know its been too long since i updated,
BUT BO BIAN RIGHT MY LIFE SO HAPZ.
i just learnt that new word from lanabel, HAPZ.
hapz means happening.

so i managed to survive the craziest week ever, last week.
rehearsals running every night and getting home at 11pm or later,
rushing essays and sleeping 4 hours a night,
tok presentation, history essay, chinese test, EE, etc etc etc
and having 2 performances on consecutive nights.
not to mention the emotional rollercoaster i was experiencing from personal matters.

man i was so burnt out i was literally a walking zombie!

but anyway, i managed to survive and i did have some great time with friends!

last weekend was quite happening and fun!

this is not a good time to blog, when you've a lit test in 1 hour and you haven't studied yet.

1. sailing!

looks like hawaii or some paradise place!! i was super happy there. i love the beach (:
anyway, i kind of learnt how to sail, but not really.
going to do this for CAS, but ive to wait till holiday cause otherwise i wont have time to go down every week. i cant wait!

2. lovely ring. that i couldnt wear :(
fml i took like half an hour nearly ripping off my index finger, in an attempt to get it off and i almost lost all hope in life thinking i'll never play viola again. then dad told me to use soap and get it off. worked like magic! -___-

3. AYO concerts. i went on both nights! this was on first night, with erik.
okay i know you cant see the dress im wearing clearly, blogger photos quality are really bad.
but i liked the chiffon polka dot material a lot! and i was wearing my new navy blue sneakers, which i almost died trying to squeeze myself into it and wear for the whole day.

it was actually half a size smaller than my feet, so.
but anyway im freezing them, so hopefully they'll expand!

4. baked lovely double chocolate chip cookies yummmm.

5. new shoes arrived! navy blue is one of them (:
the top left floral blue one is from primark, only 3 pounds! most comfy-est of all the shoes,
haha prolly cause it's the only one that's actually a real size 6 and not some cheater size 5!

that is a video of me having dinner at wetherspoon, a pub in scotland (: no i didnt order beer, cause we were eating with officials that day. scotland was fab, but not as exciting as i thought europe would be. or maybe it was just that i went to a boring town. so overall i had a great experience, mostly cause of the friends i went with, but i definitely wouldnt go there again given a free choice.

so sorry i havent been updating this space for such a long time, im too lazy to and anyway im constantly bombarded by all the photos on facebook that people keep tagging me in. here's a vid to entertain you till the next time i post, which i hope wouldnt be long despite me still in my small no-homework bubble.

hey all! so sorry for the lack of updates recently, but as SNYO is preparing for our concert (which is tonight) and tour to scotland, we've had so many rehearsals this week!

it's been 7pm-10pm everynight. and saturday was 10.30am to 7pm for me omg.
i've been pretty zombified, and i thought i would never make it to this far of the week.
but anyway! decided not to go to school today so i can finish up my TOK essay, tons of homework to rush before i leave tomorrow, and pack my luggage.

managed to bake 2 batches of hershey chocolate chip muffins this morning for breakfast, first time trying out this recipe and it's super yummmmmm!!!!!
it was full of chocolate chips, half-melted and completely melts in your mouth, while the muffin is golden brown, crisp on the outside and soft on the inside.

i was completely in bliss and thought to myself, i love life!

and here's a class photo that we took yesterday LOL. 2 of my classmates shaved bald for hair for hope (most admirable indeed) and so we decided we would all wear headwear hahaha. lucky for those of us who forgot to bring, the theatre have lots of props!

slept for 12 hours last night cause i was so drop dead tired (8pm to 8am) and i haven't started on my tok essay YET, which is due in like 12 hours.

watching harry potter tonight, im so excited! i watched every single harry potter movie in the cinemas and bought every single book too, though im not a hardcore fan as much as i sound to be haha.

starting school at 9am?

As you know if you've been reading my blog,
that my school starts later than other schools.
We start on 8am on normal days, except wednesdays when we start at 9am.
And i've always taken this as a privellege, because seriously which other school would do this?

I always reach school at 7.30am, regardless of wednesday or not, so i use the extra time to practise the moment i get to school.

These 2 weeks are art fest weeks, and everybody's busy with rehearsals, so school has given us a special 9am - 1pm timetable.

Sure, we all really appreciate it and everybody's a lot more fresher. So bev and marsha thought, why not we write a proposal to the school to start school at 9am daily instead?

and i was really against the idea.

so when they emailed the entire school regarding this, i decided to write a response.

so here was what i wrote:

and little did i know that in the following 8 hours i got a whole spam of supporters and haters!

k fine that is a little extreme. im not gonna publish their responses here, but yeah. i had a lot of responses be it public or private emails, or coming up to me personally, that im doing the right thing/wrong thing.

seriously just look at the threads.

anyway i got annoyed, cause it wasnt like i wanted anybody to support me/hate me, but i just wanted people to know another side of view before they blindly follow a movement. i decided to just leave things as they are and not bother about it anyway. not like the school is going to agree to starting school so late!

as it was school holiday in preparation for arts fest and i wasn't involved, so i woke up only at 8am (and had slept at 10pm the night before), and decided to make muffins for breakfast.

Also, because i had enough of baking failures, so i decided i will follow strictly to instructions this time. and yay!

it's art fest week, but the concerts that i was involved in were the pre-arts fest, so they're over already. and now that everybody's busy preparing for their concerts, im super free.

i didnt book any tickets for ANY of the performances at all cause i couldnt be bothered,
and now i regret like crazy cause everybody's being all excited about them and im like, yeah okay i wont get to watch it :(

cousins from overseas are here, and the plan is shopping everyday for them.
i think im joining them, haha even though im planning to save for europe backpacking trip, in one year time. OH MAN.

also, daddy bought me an oven SO IM BAKING LIKE CRAZY!
actually not really. baking makes me upset, i am an ultimate failure. even betty crocker cant save me.

how was your week?

mine went well, so well it was boring.
had Lee Kuan Yew International Performance on tues,
weds was daddy's pre-birthday dinner, thurs daddy's actual birthday dinner (we're such pigs, it was just an excuse to eat twice haha),

yesterday was such an amazing day.
amazingly bad day, but really just blessings in disguise.

like when mrs sarah rejected the bio prac that i've been working on (i think she hates me), and i was really miserable because i've to come up with a new one and submit proposal in 3 days,

i had help from my classmates.

when i forgot to bring my consent form,
Amy immediately photocopied one for me.

Most of all, i forgot to bring my performance shoes.
yes, we had to leave school at 4pm to perform for Lee Kuan Yew's International Water Event Dinner at Ritz Carlton and i freaking forgot to bring my shoes.
I only realised this at 2pm! so it was a mad rush asking everybody for black shoes, teachers even.

So i miserably headed to class thinking that i was going to die.
However, Ms Soh the new music teacher who is really awesome, she just replied, why dont you go plaza sing to get it now?

everybody was just like gaping at her.

and so she walked me to the general office to sign me out, and told me to go buy shoes now.
i was so shocked and thankful at the same time!
seriously, she didn't even scold me or scorn or whatever, which is a typical teacher would do.
and she just immediately came up with the solution, unlike some other teachers who would ask you back so now what are you going to do.

so yes, i ran out of school and went to buy a pair of shoes and came back in time too.

AMAZING. sometimes it just takes an act of kindness, somebody understanding, to revive your bad day. really.

so no action is too small to impact. I'll always remember Ms Soh, and what happened today.
And if one day i become a teacher, i aspire to be like her.

i panicked for like 10 mins, before i decided to lift the piano lid.
IT WAS SUPER SCARY LAH!!!!!

i remember in year 2 when crystle dropped her phone into the grand piano, and ms yang totally went through the roof, because they had to dismantle the entire piano to get her phone out!

my first thought when my phone went in, was "MUM'S GOING TO KILL ME AND I'VE TO USE MY ONE MONTH ALLOWANCE TO PAY FOR DISMANTLING THE PIANO JUST TO GET MY PHONE OUT OMGGGGGGG"

luckily it wasnt that deep, and i managed to squeeze my fat hand in, had to use my entire arm to reach in and retrieved the phone.

WHEW!

moral of the story: dont sms and practise at the same time. what if your phone drops into your violin, recorder or triangle! :O

k obviously im just kidding. dont put your phone on your instrument lah, but if you're playing some noob instrument like triangle then obviously dont need to worry!

(hope there's no pro triangle player reading this)

HI I HAD A MEMORABLE DAY :D

1. i walked to arab street from school and then back again!!!!
that's like 40 mins of jogging/walking time.

2. i bought a box of mega huge strawberries! it's the best strawberries i've ever eaten in my life, it's huge and super sweet. and it has the stem and leaves and everything, heehee.

3. i watched lion king!
it was good, but wasnt as good as i imagined. but i had fun remembering my childhood memories all over again, i used to watch it on tape again and again and again.

okay i just blogged this in 3 mins while waiting for class to start. YAY!

omg i just realised that i havent blogged for a week.
and that's because i've been so busy!

HOLIDAYS LIKE NO HOLIDAYS.
no lah, there were several afternoons when i just slept the day away.
like a pig. i swear 3 days after school starts i'll regret those times so much that i'll yank my hair out.

okay, so here are a few updates of what happened over last week,

1. had photoshoot with Caleb!

it was super spontaneous lah, it was only confirmed the night before.
and im glad the pictures turned out beautiful, as always.
he works such magic.
one day when he becomes super famous and charges people like $1000/hour like those rip-off high end photographers, i'll be super thankful.

Here are a few of my favourites. Actually i really like all of them. It was so hard to pick one for my fb dp lah!

2. SNYO camp.

and it was held at goodman campus! the place hardly changed since 2 years ago, i was so happy to be back (: having 8 hours of sectionals a day really killed me though. really couldnt stand it. but what wont break me will only make me stronger i guess.

3. Intensive chamber rehearsals.

Because my quartet is the first item to start off artsfest! We're playing in the first music concert, of the entire fest. There're 11 in total, and that's record breaking. 4. SCHOOL WORKKKKKK

omg im so glad i was super motivated in the first week of hols and managed to finish like 80% of my work. i would wake up at 7am everyday, practice in the morning for 3 hours, and do my work.

And then in the second week it was totally like sleep in until 10am daily. unfortunately for me, i still havent done the 20%. went over to bethea's place and we did our homework together on fri, and luckily it was productive. k fine so im left with 10% now.

And upcoming July would be a crazier month, with 6 important essays due. That's like 1-2 per week and i seriously cannot cram 2 essays in a week!
Since i only have like.. 3 nights free to do whatever work i have. that's insane. i don't know how i would survive. plus, SNYO rehs are starting soon, for the tour! yes, im going to Aberdeen, Scotland!

i didnt stay over, cause i had class the next day.

pool's view was mad awesome, but the problem was that it was freezing all the time (cause it was so high up), and absolutely EVERYBODY is holding a camera taking pictures! of themselves, of the view, whatever.

and the bed thing was actually hard plastic. i plopped myself down first thing when i headed to the pool and it was major painful :(

omg im so tired. 9 - 5 is string camp, 7.30 to 10.30 is OMM.
this has been going on for the entire week.

string camp has been going great, it turned out better than i expected,
because the juniors co-operated really well. so proud of them.
im glad i organised this thing, ive gotten to know them better and they arent as bad as i thought, haha. some are quite cute! (i know the other year 4s and 5s reading this must be like WTF?!)

and i never knew that recording a cd as an orchestra could be so tiring.
we just have to repeat and repeat and repeat a 55mins + 40mins works (Elgar and Mussorgsky, love!) because somebody came in one bar early, or drop their pencil, or moved their butt and the chair squeak. ahhhh!

but it really is quite an experience, and i enjoy the music very much.

okay, since plastic surgery is the hot topic now, and it has been on my mind recently, so i shall just blog about it. have been discussing with my mum almost every night about this.

plastic surgery is becoming more and more popular.
everybody's doing it nowadays, even pretty people.

moreover for people not pretty like myself, why not?

i have nothing against plastic surgery.
i dont understand the society's mindset against it, is it because it's a sign of vanity, of self-obsession?

so yeah, i've already decided that when im 18, i will do something major to my face.
probably a nose job.
next would be double eyelids. botox would reduce my face fats, but i dont want to grow old and look really, really screwed up. besides, its temporary and addictive.

no matter what people say, you and i know deep underneath that LOOKS ARE IMPORTANT.

they may not be EVERYTHING, but everybody judges.
and people judge by the way you look, because that's how they see you first.
first impressions are made in the first 3 seconds.
whether you think somebody is attractive, nice, friendly, that's all in the first 3 seconds.

if you could do something to change the way you look so that you'll be more confident,
so that you have more opportunities for whatever it is, life in general, then why not?

that i have long given up falling in love.
there's only infatuation, and i am above that
no more immature games for me, i've no time -

you're probably thinking now, you're only seventeen, what do you know?
i've always been a mature kid. since young.
i add 3 years to my real age, for my maturity.

there were puppy love in primary sch already.
i cannot count how many crushes i had and how many had on me.
all these things that i've done, telephoning each other all day long even though we knew our parents were eavesdropping sometimes and we still had the comprehension work to do, all the fights i had (literally!), roses in p5 for my birthday, the glances that we would exchange across the girl and boy table, gazing out of the classroom window because mine was just beside the basketball court, all the folded letters during p6, being stalked home everyday in fear by some guy who really liked me, and of course there was that graduation night, that guy who proposed to me with flowers and asked me for a date. And the last day of sch was just, tears.

that's only in primary school.

(actually looking back at my photos, i was so drop-dead UGLY i couldnt imagine why anybody would like me! but a lot did. i tried counting and there was around 30 guys who liked me in pri sch. SERIOUSLY hahaha)

and that wasnt the end of it, when i entered sec 1, even though i was studying in an all-girls sch.

i had my first real bf when i was in sec 1, and that was until sec 3 when i decided that first love was enough for me and i would like to move on, because im sure the world holds much more for me than staying with one guy. all those dates, fights, heartbreaks, gifts, i couldnt care anymore.

it was really like one day i woke up, and i just thought. okay it's time to move on. just like that.

and i havent looked back since.

there have been several other people coming in and out of my life, but really, nothing serious.

because when you tell yourself something, you will really believe in it. and for me, i truly believe that i dont want to get into a mess right now, and i dont want to regret anything.

whatever you're going through now, be it admiration for someone from a distance, sweet love, first love, heartbreak, whatever, i've gone through it and i know how it feels.

i know how it feels to be lonely on a friday night, or even worse, on valentines day wishing you had a date.

but so what?

right now, it's your moment to succeed in life.
right now, you don't need to be wasting time on sweet nothings, or saving up money to get something really nice for someone special. and you know what?
the world really has so much more out there, that you haven't seen.
and you dont need to be tied down now. how long do you want to be in a relationship until you get married? if you start now, it's going to be 10 years.

im just sick of hearing people say things like, "oh i wish i have a boyfriend" and "dont you wish you have a boyfriend?" or getting depressed over a guy.

NOBODY'S WORTH YOUR TIME RIGHT NOW, YOU DONT EVEN HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO FINISH YOUR WORK, IT'S TIME TO MOVE ON AND GET HIM OUT OF YOUR HEAD.

whatever red ends i had has completely faded to brown.
boring brown.

within 2 weeks only!

so tempted to cut them all off now. but shall resist for another 2 weeks before sch reopens.
otherwise i would have wasted my efforts dying my hair, and the ends are dead now! :(
they are dry like grass.
have bought tons more haircare products,
keratase hair oil, loreal leave-on hair conditioner, nuskin moisturising shampoo, nuskin rich conditioner.

it's helping, but still :(
very tempted to cut my hair into a bob also. weather so hot. a lot of people cutting short also.
but you've to be very pretty to be able to pull off short hair. sigh.

why dont we wear sick masks when we're sick?

when i was in taiwan last dec,
other than the good food and night markets everywhere, something that caught my attention was how there were always people wearing masks. not a lot, but because they wore really cute masks, so i would take notice.

like this kid for example,

and it is not uncommon along the streets to see a shop like this, selling all entire masks only!
( at first i thought those were underwears)

and i know hongkong, japan and korea have this habit of people wearing masks when they are sick. it's a form of hygiene and respect. it's basic.

and that really helped a lot during the sars period.

however, i dont understand how come we dont cultivate that in sg! and it really annoys me!

1. i take the mrt everyday, and everyday i must say, i meet at least one passenger that has cough. have you ever met an auntie, who coughs without covering her mouth, and coughs so much that you think she must have pneumonia or some deadly cough disease?

everytime somebody coughs in the train, i can almost see the germs flying around in the air and i will hold my breath for as long as i can!

and wish people would just wear masks.

mrt one cabin can have 50 people! if there's just 1 person who is sick (which confirm have lah, cough or flu or fever or something), then infect the whole cabin already what!

VERY CONTAGIOUS! mrt so small during peak hour everybody crowded like tinned tuna... wtf.

2. if you wear mask, everybody avoid you like you got disease. like that i also dont dare to wear mask right!

3. even if you dare to wear mask, the masks sold here are all the freaking ugly green surgical paper mask, so flimsy it feels useless anyway! WHY ARENT THERE HELLO KITTY ONES SOLD? okay fine, or just plain colours, like pink????
